I can’t help but feel an overall sense of disappointment. I had such high hopes for this movie because of the dragons, magic, and fantasy. Immediately after seeing the movie trailers, I wondered if this movie could live up to all of the visuals and special effects. Unfortunately, the truth must come out and I must tell you” the film was a big let down”! As the plot unfolds you come to find out ages ago there were many dragon riders who protected the lands from all evil. But one rider named Galbatorix played by (John Malkovich) turned on his fellow riders and killed off the last of the dragon riders in order to become king. Galbatorix had the only dragon in the land so no one could match his strength which is were Eragon comes into play. Eragon, a young ...

I went to the movies today to see The Fountain. Moments after the film was over I found myself clutching a shotgun wondering if I should blow my brains out for having endured that totally bizarre and pointless film. Instead I decided to drop another $11.00 and make up for it by seeing Casino Royale. With little optimism left I stuffed the shotgun back under my jacket, dropped another $12.00 at the concession stand and grabbed a perfectly centered seat for the 9:55pm showing. Boy was I glad I did! Who ever thought a middle aged guy with pursed lips and large ears could be such a total bad ass in a film? Rock on Daniel Craig, rock the f#%k on! He was awesome. And I dare say that he might just be my favorite bond to date.

Jason Statham plays a hit man hired to whack a boss of an organized crime family. In retaliation, Chev Chelios (Statham) is injected with a drug that leaves him an hour to live. The triggerman needs to find the antidote and get his revenge before the drug seizes his heart. During his race against time he discovers that adrenaline blocks the poison and extends his life. Crank has exciting chases, cars driving through malls and random Statham ass shots. This was the most fun I have had at the movies this year. I haven’t even told you about the scene in Chinatown! That was great.

If you want to see a movie with some kick ass cars, this is the one. If you’re expecting to see a movie that changes the way you look at the world and will make you a better person, go re-watch “Forrest Gump”, but a movie doesn’t need to satisfy all of your emotional needs to be good. With that I present to you “The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift”. In Tokyo Drift we see plenty of modified cars, lovely Asian babes, and even a couple of guns (though none were actually fired). The movie does best to live by it’s tag-line: “If ain’t outta control, you ain’t in control”.

Miami Vice has always been about fashion, music and kicking ass. In the early 80’s Don Johnson and Philip Michael Thomas had me wearing thin cotton blazers with the sleeves pushed up to my elbows and and penny lofers with no socks. Those were some damn sexy times, my friends. Now in 2006 we are taken on another adventure with our old friends Crockett and Tubbs. The focus was the all too familiar Miami drug trafficking problem. However, this is a trip for which I was more than happy to buy a ticket.
