Ok so let’s see… Action: CHECK Adventure: CHECK Great Heroes: CHECK Even Better Villains: CHECK Amazing Visual FX: CHECK Yep, we have a full fledged blockbuster on our hands! This movie exceeded any and all expectations I had for it. It was every bit as good as the original and then some. Johnny Depp was awesome as usual. His memorable character was just as good this time around as it was the first time. How he ever had the creativity to mix a pirate with a drunken Keith Richards in order to come up with this character is beyond me. It just doesn’t get old.

Gladiator is one of those movies that I could watch over and over and still appreciate it. I recall the first time I saw it I was so caught up in the story, that some people may call slow, that I could not tear myself away from. I really felt as though I had been transported to ancient Rome; standing there among the populous watching it all happen. This 2000 blockbuster hit has it all, wartime battles, love, history, and great acting. The attention to detail is amazing, although it is not without fault.

Well if you ever wondered what a class 5 Mutant was capable of, then this is the movie for you! This movie definitely surpassed the others in terms of sheer destruction. I mean they really dealt out some serious ass whopping in this movie. I really can’t say too much without giving away portions of the film unfortunately. I will say however, that I was quite open-jawed during a few scenes. The basic premise of this installment is a pretty good one. The government creates a “cure” to the mutant X-gene and allows mutants to volunteer to be “cured”. Of course politics ensue and a line is drawn in the sand. The mutants revolt against the government in an attempt to maintain their equality.

This Afternoon, I had the pleasure of sitting down to watch the much anticipated, Mission: Impossible 3. For the most part the latest edition to the Mission: Impossible series was the same as the last two. In fact, as the series progresses I have to think that acting the part of Ethan Hunt is getting easier for Mr. Cruise. In the movie he basically runs around like a crazy person all over the world making out with 20 year olds. Not exactly a far stretch from his personal life. On that note, it seems that Tom Cruise’s antics the last year or two may be affecting his box office numbers. Mission Impossible 3 opened up to a slightly disappointing $48 million. Its predecessor, Mission Impossible 2, earned $57.8-million at its May 2000 opening.
