Video games have been creeping their way onto the big screen in recent years, and let’s be honest, most of the time they don’t do very well at all. ‘Doom’ being the most recent mega flop has left very little optimism in the way of video game movies. None-the-less, I was slightly excited to see the newly released Silent Hill. I never actually played the game, so I had no pre-conceived notions about what the movie or story would be about. I just knew the previews looked…well, interesting. I have to say the art direction on Silent Hill was awesome. The creativity displayed in the characters and the “Silent Hill” world was excellent. It takes you a minute every time you see a new character to figure out exactly what is going on. They are really bizarre and ...

"The Hills Have Eyes" had the potential to be a “Texas Chainsaw Massacre” kind of movie. After all, It’s the same premise really. A small group of people get stranded out in the middle of nowhere. Turns out some crazy ass retarded people live near by and start to pick them off one at a time... Oh yeah, they eat them too. Unfortunately, this movie fell so far below my expectations that it’s no longer even in sight.     The first time you see the people in the hills is basically a rape scene. I have to be completely honest, I really hate seeing rape scenes in movies. I’m not saying it makes a movie bad or anything but it really makes me feel nauseous when you are watching a woman being raped on a 50 foot screen. Take that nausea ...

Saw II is what all great horror films should aspire to be. Films like “A Nightmare on Elm Street,” “Friday the 13th,”, and “Halloween” are all classics, but they never really tapped into true human emotion. Human emotions are so essential to an outstanding horror film. Let’s be honest, compare the two scenarios: “Jason” chasing after you, or you trapped in a box and your only way out is whole lot of pain. Do you see where I’m going with this? Now let’s get down to business, there are a few questions that should be answered before seeing this movie.

I loved the first movie and I think this one may be a little better. The only beef I have with vampire movies in general is that the vampires always seem to have billions of dollars at their disposal. They have Ferraris, military grade helicopters, etc. It’s a bit ridiculous. But it seems to be a staple in vampire movies so what can you do there? The movie started off hard and fast paced and didn’t ever seem to slow down. It was action packed from start to finish. I thought Marcus (the new, uber vampire that was introduced) was excellent and nothing like the leader in the previous movie.

I was looking forward to seeing a good scary movie this weekend. I went out, spent the cash and saw Hostel. I thought the movie had more funny parts than it did scary parts. This movie was not scary at all. I know, that doesn’t make it a bad movie or anything but the cheap feel of it does. Also the 8000 totally pointless naked women you see in the movie just got to be so over the top that it was absurd. Don’t get me wrong, I love naked women. However this started to have that Friday the 13th “naked girl running out of the shower” feel to it. Then, when you finally get to the plot of the movie, it's a bit silly. I can't tell you why without giving it away, but the premise has been done many, ...
