The original Condemned game was, in my opinion, a breakthrough in the first person action genre. The fighting system is the standard to which most action type games should be judged upon. Amazingly, the sequel to this innovative game improves on most aspects of this system, at the slight cost of losing the feel of its predecessor. Condemned 2: Bloodshot places you in the shoes of an ex-FBI agent, who explores the supernatural with the aid of some nifty equipment. Your character is essentially a forensics officer that not only must face off against insane looking crack heads and whores, but have to be a pretty strong puzzle solver. You have four gadgets at your disposal (a black light scanner, a digital camera, the Stemioscope, and a PDA) each with there own particular use. When you get to certain areas, such as a place where you need to ...

Lost Odyssey is the second game from studio “Mistwalker”, with the popular title Blue Dragon being its first. While Blue Dragon was somewhat of a let down here in the states, Lost Odyssey more than made up for any lost integrity for this company.Lost Odyssey’s story is simply astounding to say the least. It has truly been a while since I have played a game with such an interesting story in it. Plus the length of this RPG is really quite long, totaling out just over 40 hours, which in this day and age is kind of unheard of. The story follows the path of Kaim, who is an immortal, which has no recollection of any of his memories from the last thousand years or so. Throughout the game you encounter other immortals that who end up joining your party to fight alongside Kaim. The story has many nice plot ...

Fans of the long-running Final Fantasy Franchise have without a doubt already heard of Final Fantasy 7: Crisis Core for the Sony PSP. For the rest of you, please understand that this latest installment is part of a series of games that has had several spin-offs and prequels to an extent that no other video game franchise has seen. Crisis Core follows the story of Zack, a Soldier 1st Class, who is essentially a new character for this game (He was included in some secret scenes from Final Fantasy 7).

For anyone that really likes the TV show Lost, the game is either going to be blow you away, or you’re going to hate it. Lost offers you deep jungles and the familiar locals from the show, which you can explore but unfortunately, Lost the video game overall is just one of those mediocre titles at best in terms of quality. The character models in this game are very basic; everything from the walk cycles to very basic gestures I found upsetting. Often times, it is difficult to tell who some of the characters were, even primary characters like Ben. The game designers did however spend a little extra time, on the environment which was a plus. The environment that was created had a nice rich feel. So at least they did something right.

Anyone who has ever watched Dragonball Z or played the last two Dragonquest games will undoubtedly notice a striking similarity in the characters and art style. Although at a new company founded by himself, Mistwalker, Hironobu Sakaguchi has not changed his style much. Sadly, different art direction may turn many gamers away from the game, since most of the gamers today are graphic whores. The overall design and flow of the game is fantastic, although slightly linear for my taste. The story revolves around young kids whose village is destroyed by evil and their quest to seek revenge. The same old RPG type story we have all heard and played a million times before. The real draw to Blue Dragon is not with the story, but with the battle mechanics.
