As a new comer to the Guitar Hero series in general, I may not be the best person to review this game, but I’ll give my opinion of GH3 without much comparison to the previous Guitar Hero games. I will begin with a quick look at the game in general, so if you’ve played any of the Guitar Hero games ever, you may want to skip this part. Guitar Hero is a game which involves you strumming a guitar controller while pressing one or combinations of five colored fret buttons which correspond to the notes on the screen which scroll from top to bottom. The idea is basic, but the reason GH3 is popular among people and with me, is the challenge against to play songs perfectly, and eventually play songs better then the world at large with enough practice. There is a tutorial, which is very ...

As many of us gamers know, shooters have come a long way since the good old days. I remember fond memories of games like Duke Nukem and Quake being so great and fun to play. Since those times however, shooters have taken more of a mainstream stance in our gaming society. Call of Duty 4 is the newest installment in the COD franchise, but this time around it received a full makeover from top to bottom.

The first thing Mass Effect players will realize when they start playing is the interesting and familiar dialog system. For anyone who has played Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic this system will feel very at home. The dialog system really engages the player into the game, because of its seamless and realistic script. When playing Mass Effect players can decide to play as either a good (paragon) or evil (renegade) character which affects the game from how people talk to you to how vendors will deal to you. Throughout the game you can decide how you want to interact with people; choosing to help out people or running around punching them in the face. Character creation is very customizable, allowing the player to recreate yourself with stunning accuracy, and even allows you to pick your background ranging from a war hero to an Earth ...

I, like many others have been waiting for Assassin’s Creed since I first caught a glimpse of it many months ago. Before I played the game I was under the impression it was going to be a mish mash of Splinter Cell meets Prince of Persia. Well I was half right.   I popped in the game and sat there dumbfounded for many minutes wondering if the correct game was actually in the box. Everything I had seen of this game took place in the dark ages, yet I’m walking around in what appears to be the “matrix”. There is no floor, no walls, no anything. So I am sitting in the “matrix” while an anonymous woman gives me orders on how to control my character. I’m unable to retain what the woman is telling me however because all I can try to do is not go into a ravaging seizure because ...

With Final Fantasy Tactics out on the PSP, what other tactics type game could anyone want to play? Well the answer is Jeanne D’arc, which is an interesting twist on the tactics genre. First thing that anyone will notice is the battle system is a little different then usual games of this category. Each person in your army can be personally equipped with their own armor, weapons, accessories, and skills. Before each battle the player is prompted to save, equip, place units, or options. After the player has placed their amount of units allowed, usually five or six, the battle begins. Standard game play begins here with the player’s side attacking first and then an enemy turn. One interesting aspect of Jeanne D’arc which sets its battle system apart from other games is the Burning Aura circles. Whenever a character attacks an enemy a golden circle appears on the opposite ...
