Throughout history there have been dates that defined nations, dates like Dec. 7th, 1941(Attack on Pearl Harbor), June 6th, 1944 (D-Day), August 6th, 1945 (The Atomic Bombing of Hiroshima), and September 11th, 2001 (World Trade Center Attacks) all dates that will live on forever. It’s safe to say that Gamer Nation can now add March 15th, 2007 as one of these defining dates. The day that the long awaited sequel to one of the best games ever made period was released. You can’t argue the fact that God of War was simply amazing, earning Game of the Year winner 2005, IGN’s Best Action Game, and countless other awards. The only real question is: can God of War II live up to the Original?

The final fantasy series has always been near and dear to any Playstation owner’s heart. Even back when the console wars were raging against SNES, SEGA, and others, there has always been a Final Fantasy game somewhere in between. The series is now up to number twelve, which in my opinion, is one of the best so far. As soon as the game begins, any Final Fantasy veteran will instantly be taken back to the 8-bit era of gaming. The environments, the characters, the spells and monsters, everything screams classic Final Fantasy. At a closer look though, Final Fantasy 12 is much more then a renewal of the past, it is also an inventor of great new things.

God of War characterizes you as Kratos, a mortal who when faced with death in battle begs Ares, the Greek God of War, to save him and upon doing so pledges his soul to him. Ares accepts the offer, and Kratos becomes the most feared soldier in all of Sparta. With the Blades of Chaos grafted onto his arms, Kratos begins his conquests in the name of Ares. What follows is an absolutely gorgeous tale of war, death, and ultimately revenge.

Once in a while a game comes along that is so good it’s worth buying the entire system for. Now, I know the Playstation 2 has been on store shelves for awhile now but, if you don’t own one go and buy one. You might ask "Why Jason?", because “Shadow of the Colossus” is a game like no other. I can’t say enough about "Shadow of the Colossus" in my opinion it's the best answer the Playstation 2 has to the Halo series. You just can’t pass this game up.
