Hell hath no fury like a woman scorn. But what happens if that woman has super powers? That question is answered in “My Super Ex-Girlfriend”. Uma Thurman plays a timid Jenny Johnson during the day, but quickly switches to G-Girl in the world’s most desperate time of need. Life gets interesting when Jenny lets Matt (Luke Wilson) into her life to help satisfy her needs. Unfortunately for Matt, Jenny is a jealous and controlling girlfriend who uses her super powers to convince him to love her.
My Super Ex-Girlfriend was delightfully funny. Honestly, I went to see this movie because my roommate was an animator on this film, but was surprised when I found myself laughing through the whole show. I asked myself if it was the movie that made me laugh or was it because I was happy that none of my ex-girlfriends could write “dick” on my forehead with heat vision.
I am still trying to figure out what it is about Uma that makes me question the consistency of her beauty. At times she looks amazing, but at others she is very much below average. Sorry ladies, but I don’t think Luke Wilson is much to look at. He is pretty funny in this flick. So if you’re into the average funny guy, there you go.
This movie is a great warning to guys. Watch what you do to your girlfriend once she becomes an ex. She may not have traditional super powers, but as many have said previously, “Hell hath no fury like a woman scorn.”
