While most of you have probably never heard of Don LaFontaine, I can almost guarantee that all of you have heard his voice. The man known as the "King of Voiceovers" died Monday afternoon in Los Angeles, while the official cause of death has not been released it is believed to be from complications from a collapsed lung. LaFontaine has voiced over 5,000 movie trailers, including T2: Judgement Day, Independence Day, and The Simpsons Movie, among MANY MANY others. Don is largely credited for the famous opening line of "In a World..." and for changing the face of Movie trailers as we now know them. It's been awhile since the last time I have posted my weekly game releases. So here we go, let's see what do we have coming out this week? Yesterday, Ubisoft and GeoEye, Inc. announced that GeoEye, a premier provider of satellite, aerial and geospatial information, has provided high-resolution images taken from its commercial Earth-imaging IKONOS satellite for integration into Tom Clancy’s H.A.W.X for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, the Sony PLAYSTATION®3 computer entertainment system and on Windows-based PC. Tom Clancy's H.A.W.X will be available in early 2009.
For those old enough to remember The Last Dragon, you should be able to recall Leroy's arch enemy The Shogun of Harlem. Julius Carry died August 19 in Los Angeles of pancreatic cancer.
For those of you out there playing Team Fortress 2 brace yourselves for some exciting news. Valve has announced that the latest update for TF2 will include a new multiplayer game mode (Arena), as well as 2 entirely new maps and 3 existing maps exclusively tailored for Arena Mode’s play style. Scheduled for release today through Steam this update also includes new heavy specific items such as the Sandvich (+120 health item), an upgraded Natascha (mini-gun), Heavy Class achievements, and more. Unfortunately, there is no information as to when or if the 360 will be receiving this update, so get your keyboard and mouse for this one kids. Pictures and more after the jump.
Guys lookout theirs a new model in town and boy is she fine... I repeat fine!!!...First let me get this out of the way, having never played or been a fan of the Lara Croft series admittedly I never really understood the whole Lara Croft thing, but after watching these videos you can be rest assured they will be receiving my application to the Lara Croft Fan club in the following weeks. The young lady your about to meet is Alison Carroll age 23, and from the looks of it she has the whole package, attractiveness, intelligent and she's a gymnast it seems like a perfect fit to me... oh and I almost forgot... that's one hell of a sexy accent.
