(www.ignitionent.com), a UTV enterprise, today announced that the company entered into an agreement with Epic Games to license Unreal Engine 3 for its upcoming, groundbreaking FPS, currently under development at its Florida studio.“Epic’s Unreal Engine 3 is an extremely versatile engine,” said Jeremy Stieglitz, Game Director and Lead Designer, Ignition Florida. “So when deciding on technology for Ignition Florida's first next-generation video game, there was no questioning that Unreal Engine 3 is the way to go.”

Here we are just coming off the big 4th of July weekend and what to gamers have to look forward to? Well not all that much...We have Unreal Tournament III, which to be honest I stopped playing the series since the first one but what can I say I know people love the series, and we have Beijing Olympics 2008. I wonder how that works, because the Olympic trials are taking place right now, so who's in the game? Anyway on to the full list.

This week on the Down in Front radio show Josh & I discussed this amazing video which was just posted to the internet recently. The video shows off Gears of War 2's new features, weapons and gameplay. It was apart of the final release disc of the Unreal Tournament 3 for the xbox 360. So I know that many of you out there may just skim through the different news posts, but this one is really worth a read. Sometime in late July, a totally "Green" computer called the CherryPal is going to launch, and it looks to be pretty neat.With no actual moving parts or any of that, it can deliver the power of a standard computer that is out on the market right now, all for a very low cost to both your wallet and the environment. We here at the Down in Front News Department usually try to keep our posts about specific projects rather than the personal lives of the people in them. However, every once in a while something happens that's big enough to warrant a break from the usual. A few days ago Stan Winston passed away at the age of 62, ending a seven year battle with Myeloma. While some of the more casual movie goers may not know who Stan was, his creations are some of the greatest ever put on film. You may recognize his work from Terminator, The Alien series, The Predator films, Jurassic Park 2, and most recently Iron Man, where he created the main effect (Monster/Dinosaur/Suit) for each of these films and several others. It is with great sadness that we mourn the loss of this genius and wish the best for his family. A list of some of his work after the jump...
